His soccer journey began in Mississippi, where he grew up surrounded by a passionate soccer community. He started playing in Clinton before becoming part of the Chicago Fire Juniors of Mississippi, which later became Mississippi Rush.
Throughout his youth career, James continued to demonstrate exceptional ability and dedication. He represented the Mississippi Olympic Development Program (ODP) and the Region Pool, earning recognition among talented young players and competing at some of the highest levels of youth soccer.
Beyond his accomplishments on the field, James was valued for the person he was away from the game. Those who knew him remember his character, his willingness to encourage others, and the positive energy he brought into every room.
