CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Champaign Police are investigating a shooting that left a 41-year-old man with a potentially life-threatening gunshot wound on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
According to police, officers are investigating an incident in the 2600 block of W. Springfield Avenue. The injured man was transported to a hospital for treatment and remains hospitalized in stable condition.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. Detectives are working to determine what happened, identify the person or people responsible, and establish the events surrounding the gunfire.
