Byron Vinson Arrested After More Than Two Years as Fugitive in Philadelphia Murder Case
PHILADELPHIA — A more than two-year search for 23-year-old Byron Vinson has ended after U.S. Marshals and Philadelphia Police homicide detectives located and arrested him in connection with a 2024 killing.
Vinson was wanted by the Philadelphia Police Department for a murder that occurred on May 8, 2024, in the 7100 block of Limekiln Pike. Investigators obtained a homicide warrant for Vinson on May 17, 2024, after developing him as a suspect in the shooting death.
For more than two years, Vinson remained a fugitive while authorities worked to locate him.
Dramatic Arrest
The long-running manhunt came to an end in the 1400 block of 72nd Avenue, where members of the U.S. Marshals Service Philadelphia office and Philadelphia Police homicide detectives tracked Vinson to a residence.
