Kou Lee Motorcycle Accident: 44-Year-Old West Warwick Rider Dies After Niantic Avenue Motorcycle Accident

The West Warwick community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Kou Lee, 44, whose life was tragically cut short Monday night in a fatal motorcycle crash in Cranston. His sudden passing has left family, friends, and loved ones devastated, as many struggle to process the unexpected tragedy.

According to the Cranston Police Department, the crash occurred just before 9:30 p.m. on Niantic Avenue near the Cranston/Providence line. Officers responded to the area of 245 Niantic Avenue after receiving reports of a serious motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle. Lee, a resident of West Warwick, was identified as the rider involved.

Preliminary information indicates Lee was operating a 2025 Harley-Davidson Sportster Revolution Max southbound on Niantic Avenue at a high rate of speed. Witnesses reported that the motorcycle failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, striking the curb before crashing into a utility pole near the entrance of Lang’s Bowlarama. Police said Lee, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle during the impact. The motorcycle continued traveling without a rider before tumbling and coming to rest in the parking lot of Graybar.

Lee was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was sadly pronounced deceased at 9:48 p.m.

As investigators continue reviewing surveillance footage and examining possible contributing factors, West Warwick residents are coming together in grief, remembering Kou for the life he lived and the memories he leaves behind. His passing has created a deep void, and his absence will be felt for years to come by those who knew and loved him.
