According to investigators, officers responded to reports of gunfire at the shopping center during the early morning hours and discovered a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency crews attempted lifesaving measures at the scene, but the victim was later pronounced dead.

Authorities say the suspected gunman fled the area before officers arrived. Detectives are now reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and speaking with witnesses in an effort to track down the suspect’s identity and movements before and after the shooting.

The Houston Police Department has not yet publicly released the name of the victim pending family notification. Investigators also have not confirmed what may have led to the shooting, though they believe the incident may have stemmed from an altercation shortly before shots were fired.

As the investigation continues, Crime Stoppers of Houston announced that a reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and charging of the suspect.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed suspicious activity near the strip center or who may have cellphone video, surveillance footage, or additional information to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.

The shooting remains under active investigation as homicide detectives work to determine a motive and locate the suspect.
