The Reeltown community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Bailee Ward, a recent graduate of Reeltown High School, who was killed in a tragic motorcycle crash Friday night in Elmore County.
According to the Wetumpka Police Department, emergency crews were dispatched around 11:05 p.m. to the 4700 block of U.S. Highway 231 after receiving reports of a serious single-vehicle motorcycle accident.
When first responders arrived, they found two people involved in the crash. Authorities confirmed that Bailee Ward suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second individual was seriously injured and transported to a hospital in Montgomery for medical treatment. Officials have not publicly released the identity of the injured person.
Southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 231 remained closed for approximately two hours as investigators worked to process the scene and gather evidence related to the crash. Authorities continue to investigate what may have caused the accident.
