According to authorities, the fatal two-vehicle collision occurred shortly after 7 a.m. on Alabama Highway 28, about two miles north of Catherine. Karen was driving when her vehicle was struck by another car. The impact caused her to suffer critical injuries, and she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
