The community is mourning the tragic loss of 34-year-old Jatives Moate of Sylvester, Georgia, who was fatally shot in an overnight incident outside a Tallahassee business.
According to the Tallahassee Police Department, officers responded just after 2 a.m. Saturday to reports of gunfire in the 2800 block of Sharer Road, outside Pockets Pool and Pub. When officers arrived, they found Moate suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot area.
Authorities said emergency responders immediately began life-saving measures at the scene. Despite their efforts, Moate was pronounced dead from his injuries.
Investigators have not released any suspect information, and no arrests have been made. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under active investigation as detectives continue to collect evidence, review available footage, and speak with witnesses.
