A 23-year-old woman has died following a single-vehicle crash Sunday night in Mayes County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Authorities said the crash occurred before 8 p.m. when the driver, identified as 23-year-old Sarah DeSautell of Pryor, was traveling westbound on County Road (E 620). Investigators reported that her vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons, struck a fence, and then collided with a tree before coming to rest.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, but officials confirmed that DeSautell died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
According to the report, she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
At this time, officials have not released additional details regarding what may have caused the vehicle to leave the roadway, and the crash remains under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
