According to the Potsdam Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 3:37 a.m. on May 16, 2026, along Pierrepont Avenue. Officers responded after reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. When emergency personnel arrived, Emily was found critically injured at the scene.
She was transported to Canton Potsdam Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased due to the severity of her injuries sustained in the collision.
Investigators reported that the suspect vehicle fled the scene immediately after the crash.
