A devastating motorcycle crash on May 15 at approximately 6:20 p.m. at the intersection of San Jose Ranch Road and FM 509 has claimed the life of 23-year-old Ezra Andrea Duke Villafranco of San Benito, leaving family, friends, and the surrounding community in deep mourning.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Villafranco was riding a Kawasaki ER-6 motorcycle when the tragic collision occurred. Investigators said he was passing vehicles in a designated no-passing zone as he approached the intersection.
At the same time, a Toyota Tacoma pulling a trailer was attempting a left turn onto FM 509 when the two vehicles collided.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and Villafranco was transported to Valley Baptist Medical Center. Despite medical efforts to save his life, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities noted that the investigation into the crash remains ongoing as officials work to fully determine the circumstances leading up to the collision.
