The Summerdale community and wider Baldwin County are mourning the heartbreaking loss of 19-year-old Alejandro Juaquin Pineda Hooper, who was killed in a tragic head-on motorcycle crash late Saturday night on U.S. Highway 31.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash occurred at approximately 9:59 p.m. on May 16 near the 11-mile marker, about two miles north of the Loxley city limits. Investigators said Hooper was riding a 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when it collided head-on with a 2017 Hyundai Elantra under circumstances still under active investigation.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced Hooper dead from injuries sustained in the violent crash. The driver of the Hyundai was also injured and transported to USA Health University Hospital for medical treatment.
