When police arrived at the scene, they discovered a young woman inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Tulsa Fire Department crews and EMSA paramedics immediately began life-saving efforts before transporting the victim to a Tulsa hospital. Officials say she is currently recovering, though her exact condition has not yet been released.

Investigators say an elderly resident inside the home had called 911 after becoming alarmed by aggressive knocking at the front door. A teenage male staying at the residence reportedly looked outside to see who was there moments before a single gunshot rang out.

Police later determined that the bullet traveled through the exterior wall of a front bedroom, striking the 19-year-old woman while she was lying inside the room.

Neighbors told authorities they only heard one shot before the area became quiet again. At this time, investigators have not released any suspect information or possible motive as detectives continue gathering evidence and reviewing nearby surveillance footage.

Crime scene investigators spent several hours processing the area as officers canvassed the neighborhood for witnesses and additional information.

Tulsa Police are urging anyone who may have seen suspicious activity or who has security or doorbell camera footage from the area around the time of the shooting to contact Tulsa Crime Stoppers. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward if information leads to an arrest or conviction.

The investigation remains ongoing.
