The Sanger community is grieving the heartbreaking and untimely loss of Daniel Martinez, a 2025 graduate of Sanger High School, who tragically lost his life in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday, May 28, at approximately 10:30 p.m. near FM 455 and Lake Crest Drive, just east of Sanger, Texas.
Emergency crews, including Sanger Fire/EMS, Pilot Point EMS, and local law enforcement, responded swiftly to the scene following reports of a serious collision. Upon arrival, responders found significant damage involving two vehicles. Despite life-saving efforts, Daniel Martinez was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two additional Sanger High School students involved in the crash sustained serious injuries and were transported to a hospital in Denton, where they continued to receive medical care.
Daniel’s passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family, friends, classmates, teachers, and teammates. As a recent graduate, he was preparing to step into the next chapter of his life, carrying with him the hopes and dreams that now remain unfulfilled.
