It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Meredith Kane Ellis, who died peacefully on the morning of June 11, 2026, at the age of 39, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of all who knew her.
Born in Rochester, New York and raised in Glens Falls, Meredith lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. She pursued her passion for environmental conservation at Saint Lawrence University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Conservation Biology. During her time there, she developed a lifelong commitment to protecting the environment and preserving the beauty of the world around her.
A transformative chapter in Meredith’s life came during a study abroad program in Kenya, an experience that not only shaped her worldview but also led her to meet her future husband, Bryan Ellis. From that moment forward, their lives became intertwined. After graduation, they embarked on a shared journey that took them through Colorado, graduate studies in Syracuse, and ultimately to Delmar, where they built a life centered on love, family, and shared purpose.
Meredith found joy in the simple and meaningful rhythms of life. She loved gardening, hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors. The Adirondack Mountains and Acadia National Park were among her most treasured places, where she created lasting memories with those she loved. At home, she had a special gift for bringing people together. Whether hosting holiday gatherings, backyard cookouts, or quiet evenings with family and friends, Meredith created spaces where everyone felt welcomed, valued, and cared for.
Above all, Meredith was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, a cherished daughter, and a beloved sister. Her warmth, gentleness, and generosity left a lasting imprint on the hearts of those closest to her, as well as on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.
She is survived by her husband, Bryan Ellis; her daughter, Madeline Ellis; her mother, Lucie Kane; her father, Bill Kane; and her brother, Bobby Kane (Tabby), along with extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will continue to hold her memory close.
Though her time was far too short, Meredith’s legacy endures through the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories she created. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
