Child Killed, Another Person Injured in Officer-Involved Shooting at Senatobia Walmart

Suspect charged in deadly Horn Lake, MS, shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A child is dead, and another person is injured, after an officer-involved shooting at the Walmart in Senatobia, Mississippi.

According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, law enforcement responded to a shoplifting call at the Walmart on U.S. 51 and encountered two adults and a child driving away from the store.

The MBI claims that officers tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver drove toward them. According to the MBI, an officer fired their gun at the vehicle, and the vehicle fled the scene.

The vehicle reportedly arrived at a nearby hospital. A child was pronounced dead on the scene, and another person was critically injured.

The MBI reports that none of the officers involved were seriously injured. The shooting reportedly involved officers with the Senatobia Police Department and deputies with the Tate County Sheriff’s Office.

The MBI is currently investigating the shooting. At this time, the MBI has not released the names of anyone involved.
