It is with deep sadness and heartfelt sympathy that family, friends, and members of the Canastota community remember Ryan A. Lyke, 37, whose life was tragically cut short following a motorcycle crash in the Town of Vienna, New York, on July 22.
According to the New York State Police, the collision occurred at approximately 5:05 p.m. on State Route 13 and involved a 2022 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a 2020 Nissan Frontier pickup truck.
Preliminary information from investigators indicates that Ryan was traveling northbound on his motorcycle when the southbound pickup truck attempted to make a left turn, entering his path and resulting in a devastating collision.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and provided assistance before transporting Ryan to Rome Health for further medical care. Despite the efforts of first responders and medical personnel, Ryan sadly succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
