RIGBY, Idaho — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Ashlyn Way in Rigby earlier in the afternoon, leaving one man dead.
According to preliminary information, officers were called to the area following reports of a shooting. When authorities arrived, they found a male victim who had been shot. Despite emergency efforts, the man was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
The person suspected of carrying out the shooting reportedly fled the scene shortly after the incident. Authorities launched an investigation and search for the suspect, who was later located and taken into custody.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. Detectives are working to establish what happened before the gunfire, determine the relationship between the victim and suspect, and identify a possible motive.
