Harrisonburg Shooting: Man Seriously Injured in Saturday Night Shooting on Devon Lane
HARRISONBURG, Va. — Police are investigating a shooting that left a man seriously injured Saturday night on Devon Lane in Harrisonburg.

Officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot injury. He was transported for medical treatment, and police said his condition was serious.
The shooting prompted a significant police response in the area as officers secured the scene and began gathering evidence. Authorities asked members of the public to avoid the area while the investigation was underway.
No active threat reported
Police said there was no active threat to the surrounding community following the shooting. Investigators nevertheless remained in the area as they worked to determine what led to the gunfire and identify anyone responsible.
Detectives are expected to examine evidence from the scene, speak with witnesses and review any available surveillance footage.
At the time of the initial report, authorities had not publicly identified a suspect or announced an arrest. A motive also had not been released.
Devon Lane is near James Madison University, and the location has previously been the site of police responses to shootings, including a 2022 incident in which eight people were injured. That earlier incident was separate from Saturday night’s shooting.
