Jeffrey R. Cottrell Obituary-Car Accident: Dennison Man Killed in Tuscarawas County Single-Vehicle Crash
DENNISON, OHIO — With heavy hearts, the community is mourning the tragic loss of Jeffrey R. Cottrell, 64, of Dennison, who died Tuesday evening following a single-vehicle crash on Midvale Mine Road in Tuscarawas County.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers from the New Philadelphia Post responded to County Road 67, also known as Midvale Mine Road, near Canary Road, at approximately 7:39 p.m. on September 15 after reports of a crash.
Investigators said Cottrell was traveling southwest in a 2003 Ford F-150 when the pickup truck left the right side of the roadway, struck a post, and then collided with a tree.
Cottrell suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
The preliminary investigation indicated that Cottrell was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. Troopers also reported that alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
The Dennison community is mourning the loss of Cottrell as family members, friends, and loved ones remember his life and the impact he had on those around him.
The crash remains under investigation as authorities continue reviewing the circumstances that led to the fatal collision.
