According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, Curtis was traveling eastbound in a 2016 Freightliner when the semi-truck experienced a left front steer tire blowout near mile marker 378, between Wells and Wendover.
The tire failure led to a heartbreaking sequence of events. Authorities said the truck veered off the roadway, crossed the center median, and overturned across both westbound lanes of Interstate 80.
Curtis suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
