SMITH COUNTY, Texas — The Waskom community is mourning the death of Victor Bravo, a young man remembered for his accomplishments in school, athletics and his strong ties to the community, following a fatal shooting Friday night in Smith County.
Bravo was killed after being shot in the 6000 block of County Road 1215 near Flint, according to information released about the incident.
Deputies Respond to Shooting Report
Law enforcement officials were called to the area at approximately 10:20 p.m. Friday after receiving a report of a gunshot victim.
When authorities arrived, Bravo was located at the scene. Despite the response of emergency personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances that led to the shooting remain under investigation.
Smith County investigators and crime scene specialists responded to the location as authorities began collecting evidence and working to establish a timeline of what happened.
No Suspect in Custody
As of the latest information provided by authorities, no suspect had been taken into custody in connection with Bravo’s death.
