A family is facing an unimaginable loss after Sharon Bukulmez, 61, of Mount Desert, and her two young grandchildren, Kinsley Grubb, 5, and Sawyer Grubb, 3, of Bar Harbor, were found dead Sunday morning after their vehicle was discovered submerged in Pond Cove in Roque Bluffs, Maine.
Sharon and her grandchildren had been together during what was expected to be an ordinary journey home. Their sudden deaths have left family members and loved ones grieving three lives that were deeply connected by family and love.
Kinsley, just 5 years old, and Sawyer, only 3, were taken far too soon. Their young lives had so much still ahead of them, and the memories they created with their family will now be treasured forever.
According to investigators, Sharon and the children were last seen leaving a family function in Jonesboro at approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday. They were expected to travel to Machias, but they never arrived at their destination.
