The family was reportedly told that Moore may have been cremated after arriving at the funeral home. The family has disputed aspects of what they were told and sought answers concerning Moore’s remains. Hutchison Funeral Home acknowledged the family’s concerns and said it had launched an internal review into what happened.
Joseph Hutchison Jr. himself told WXYZ that the funeral home was investigating the matter. The funeral home later said it was “heartbroken and deeply sorry” about the family’s experience and pledged to communicate with them while its internal review continued.
