Huntsville police officers were dispatched around 7 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2026, to an apartment on Johns Road after receiving information that two people inside the residence might be deceased. When officers arrived, they found West and Staples inside the apartment. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police identified West as a 21-year-old resident of Huntsville and Staples as a 22-year-old woman from Roanoke, Alabama.
