Born on November 3, 2002, in Akron, Ohio, to William “Matt” and Denise (Bosela) Young, Nick Young was raised in Wadsworth. He graduated from Wadsworth High School in 2021 before attending Baldwin Wallace University, where he competed in varsity soccer and track and field while earning dual Bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Business Administration. For the past two years, Young served as a Surety Associate at Westfield Insurance in Medina County. In June 2026, he participated as a key speaker in the Race to Cure Sarcoma event to raise awareness and research funding for pediatric and young adult cancers.
Family Survivors and Vital Records Status
Young passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at the Cleveland Clinic at the age of 23. Official vital statistics and medical records were finalized by the Cuyahoga County Probate Court and Ohio Department of Health vital records divisions. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William E. Young, and step-grandmother, Nancy Young. He is survived by his parents, Matt and Denise Young; his brother, Matthew Young; his girlfriend, Gillian Ryser of Hubbard; his maternal grandparents, Paul and Angela Bosela; his paternal grandmother, Kendra Hughes (Ed); and extended family members.
Funeral Mass and Memorial Services
Public visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Auble-Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home (174 N. Lyman Street, Wadsworth, OH). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Prince of Peace Parish (1263 Shannon Avenue, Barberton, OH), with Father Robert Jackson officiating. Formal interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Cleveland Clinic Sarcoma Research Program.
