Short North Shooting: Tiegiaion Clement, 20, Identified as Victim in Fatal Columbus Gunfire
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus police have identified 20-year-old Tiegiaion Clement as the victim who died following an early Sunday morning shooting in the city’s Short North neighborhood.
According to police, officers were in the 1000 block of North High Street at approximately 3:10 a.m. when they heard gunfire. Officers immediately responded to the area to investigate.
Upon arrival, police found Clement suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel were called, and Clement was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.
Despite medical efforts, Clement later died from his injuries. Police said he was pronounced dead at approximately 5:50 a.m.
The shooting prompted a police investigation in the area as detectives began gathering evidence and attempting to determine what happened before the gunfire. Investigators are working to establish a timeline and identify the person responsible.
At this time, no suspect information has been released, and police have not announced an arrest. Authorities also have not disclosed a possible motive or explained whether Clement was specifically targeted.
Detectives are expected to review surveillance footage from businesses and other locations in the area and speak with potential witnesses who may have been in the Short North when the shooting occurred. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about the circumstances to come forward.
