The community of Batavia is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Michael Wittmeyer, a 23-year-old man whose life was tragically cut short following a fatal ATV crash in the Town of Pembroke on Saturday evening. According to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, emergency dispatchers received a report of an ATV crash around 7 p.m. near 9281 Ellinwood Road. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered that a black Yamaha ATV had collided with a tree. Investigators say Wittmeyer was traveling northbound on Ellinwood Road when he was unable to navigate a bend in the roadway. The ATV left the road, struck a tree, and Wittmeyer was ejected upon impact.
