The Jemison community is mourning the tragic loss of Davonte Trashod Wilson, 31, who lost his life Thursday afternoon in a head-on crash in Leeds.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Wilson was killed in a collision around 1 p.m. Thursday at Thornton Avenue N.E. and Dorrough Street. He was driving a delivery truck for Cintas when it struck another commercial vehicle head-on.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and attempted life-saving measures, but Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:24 p.m. due to his injuries.
Authorities have not released details about the second driver involved or what led to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
Back in Jemison, news of Wilson’s death has left family, friends, and neighbors grieving the sudden loss of a man remembered for his work ethic and presence in the community. Loved ones are now left to cope with a tragedy that unfolded far from home but has deeply impacted those closest to him.
