With profound sadness and heavy hearts, family, friends, and members of the Liberty, Mississippi, community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Dquarious Marqua Butler, 29, his wife, Dominque Mariona Butler, 32, and their 5-year-old daughter, Nailani Butler, whose lives were tragically taken following a devastating tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 59 in Trussville, Alabama.
The sudden loss of the Butler family has left loved ones facing unimaginable grief as they remember a husband, wife, and young daughter whose lives were cut short in a tragic moment. Their passing has created a deep void among family members, friends, and everyone who knew and loved them.
According to authorities, the crash occurred Tuesday morning in a construction zone on Interstate 59 in Trussville. Officials said Dquarious Butler was operating a commercial truck traveling northbound on I-59 with his wife and four children inside when the vehicle collided with another tractor-trailer around 7:15 a.m.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as Dquarious Butler, Dominque Butler, and their daughter Nailani. Dquarious and Nailani were pronounced dead at the scene, while Dominque was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Three other children traveling in the truck, described by authorities as immediate family members, were injured in the crash and transported to Children’s of Alabama for medical care. Their current conditions have not been released.
The tragic collision led to the closure of northbound lanes of I-59 for several hours as emergency crews, including Trussville Fire and Rescue, Center Point Fire District personnel, and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency troopers, responded to the scene and worked to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Those who knew the Butler family are remembering them for the love they shared and the bond they created together. Dquarious and Dominque were cherished as devoted parents and loved ones, while Nailani’s young life brought joy and happiness to those around her.
