Pine Grove Shooting: Bay Minette Man Wanted for Attempted Murder After Victim Shot Multiple Times
PINE GROVE, Ala. — Authorities are investigating a shooting that left a man seriously injured late Saturday night in the Pine Grove community, with investigators identifying a 21-year-old Bay Minette man as the suspect.
According to a Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office release dated August 23, 2026, patrol deputies responded to a residence on Pine Grove Road Extension near Nicholsville Road shortly before midnight on Saturday, August 22, after receiving a report that a man had been shot.
When deputies arrived, they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies immediately provided medical assistance while waiting for emergency medical personnel to arrive.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for initial treatment before being airlifted to an area trauma center. Authorities said he remained in stable condition as of the department’s release.
Investigators and crime-scene personnel responded to the residence and worked into the early morning hours processing evidence and gathering information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
According to investigators, statements from the victim and witnesses at the scene helped detectives identify Jaytwon Williams, 21, of Bay Minette, as the person suspected in the shooting.
Williams was already wanted on an unrelated felony domestic-violence warrant, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He is now also wanted in connection with the Pine Grove shooting on an attempted-murder allegation.
Authorities have warned that Williams should be considered armed and dangerous. Members of the public are urged not to approach or attempt to apprehend him if they encounter him.
Investigators are continuing to work to establish the events that preceded the shooting and determine the full circumstances surrounding the confrontation. Additional evidence and witness information could help detectives determine what led to the gunfire.
The Sheriff’s Office has not released the identity of the shooting victim at this time. Officials said additional information will be provided as the investigation progresses.
