Short North Shooting: One Person Dead After Early-Morning Gunfire in Columbus
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Columbus’ Short North neighborhood after one person was shot and later pronounced dead early Sunday morning.
According to police, officers were called to the area of North High Street and East Fourth Avenue shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday following reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.
Despite emergency medical treatment, the victim was pronounced dead shortly before 6 a.m. Authorities have not yet publicly released the victim’s identity pending notification of family members.
