A family is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Mindi Lane Harris, 26, of Burnet, who was killed early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a Chevrolet Camaro.
The fatal collision happened at approximately 12:20 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at the intersection of East Cottonwood Road and Lariat Trail.
According to preliminary information from the Texas Highway Patrol, a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling westbound in the inside lane of East Cottonwood Road. A 2025 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling directly behind the Camaro in the same lane.
Investigators said the Camaro then moved into the outside westbound lane, reportedly to widen its turning radius, before abruptly attempting a left U-turn across the inside lane.
The motorcycle was unable to avoid the maneuver and struck the left-rear portion of the Camaro, resulting in the devastating crash that claimed Harris’ life.
Mindi Lane Harris was just 26 years old, and her death has left family, friends, and others who knew her facing the pain of a life lost far too soon.
While the preliminary account provides details about how the collision unfolded, the loss extends far beyond the circumstances of the crash. Behind every traffic report is a person whose life was connected to others through memories, relationships, and shared moments.
As those closest to Harris grieve, thoughts and condolences are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
May Mindi Lane Harris rest in peace.
