Karl Kirschner Obituary—Motorcycle Accident: Karl Kirschner, 33, of Pottstown Dies After Tragic Motorcycle Crash in Philadelphia
The Pottstown community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Karl Kirschner, 33, who died following a devastating motorcycle crash late Monday night in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood.
The fatal incident happened shortly before 11 p.m. Monday on an elevated exit ramp connecting I-95 southbound to I-676 westbound.
According to authorities, Philadelphia police later discovered Kirschner unresponsive at the intersection of Callowhill and 2nd streets. He was still wearing his motorcycle helmet when emergency crews arrived.
Pennsylvania State Police located Kirschner’s motorcycle on the right shoulder of the elevated ramp. Investigators determined that he had crashed while traveling on the ramp and was ejected from the motorcycle, falling onto the roadway below.
Kirschner was transported to Jefferson University Hospital, where medical staff attempted to treat his injuries. Despite efforts to save him, he later died.
