The Felton community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Aalyah Casson, 26, who tragically lost her life early Wednesday morning, May 6, 2026, following a single-vehicle crash in Dover.
According to Dover Police, officers responded to the Unit Block of South New Street, just south of West Division Street, at approximately 12:44 a.m. after reports of a serious collision. When authorities arrived, they discovered a 2013 Nissan Murano that had left the roadway and struck a tree.
Casson, of Felton, was found inside the vehicle suffering from critical injuries. Emergency personnel and officers immediately provided life-saving aid at the scene. Despite their efforts, she later succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators stated that Casson had been traveling westbound on West Division Street before turning onto South New Street at a high rate of speed, which led to her losing control of the vehicle. Officials also noted that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
